About Jumpstart
Jumpstart is a national early education organization that leverages the power of community and adult-child relationships to build the key language and literacy skills children need to take on the world.
From an early age, children should be exposed to activities that encourage a love of language and learning and a sense of wonder about the world.
For more than 30 years, Jumpstart has trained college students and community volunteers to serve as Corps Members who volunteer in preschool classrooms nationwide. Working in collaboration with teachers, they transform students' lives by implementing research-backed curricula that strengthen language and literacy skills. These classroom engagements cultivate a lifelong love of language and learning, ultimately providing a foundation for future success for both the preschool students and the college volunteers, many of whom go on to become teachers themselves.
